GEN.ERA: new associated partner are on board

Finnish Functional Genomic Center (FFGC) and Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) – Enea joined Gen.ERA project to create a stronger network and allow European SMEs participating in the project to be ready for internationalisation. The European genomics alliance is expanding, and that more partners will be joining soon.

Finnish Functional Genomics Centre (FFGC) is a national expert organization and a core facility for genomics services. It is a testing laboratory No. T351 accredited by FINAS Finnish Accreditation Service for production of sequence raw data for various further analyses from genomic DNA with next-generation sequencing (ISO 17025). 

FFGC operates at the Turku Bioscience Centre, which is a joint department of University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University and belongs to the national Biocenter Finland infrastructure network, and supports high level research by providing open access to the state-of-the art technologies and services with the latest methods available for genome analysis. The services users include academic and government’s research units, health care units and organizations from private sector. FFGC provides expertise support and continuously develops and improves the genomics services in close collaboration with the key stakeholders. 

ENEA is the National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development, a public body aimed at research, technological innovation and the provision of advanced services to enterprises, public administration and citizens in the sectors of energy, the environment and sustainable economic development.

The Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) helps businesses innovate and grow on an international scale. It is the world’s largest support network for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with international ambitions. It is co-financed under the European Union's programme for the competitiveness of SMEs (COSME).

The Network is active in more than 60 countries worldwide. It brings together 4,000 experts from more than 600 member organizations - all renowned for their excellence in business support. 

The EEN Network member organizations are grouped in regional consortia.


GEN.ERA “Market Intelligence & Matchmaking” Event – Paris, October 21

We're glad to announce that the first GEN.ERA Market Intelligence & matchmaking event has taken place in Paris, France on October 21st. The international gathering provided our delegates with an outlook on the vast opportunities related to the genomics space, among the highest growth potential markets, whilst shaping a landscape on the current and future European scenario, and allowing attendees to run one-to-one meetings aiming at fostering potential partnerships.

Over the first event segment, project partners and associated partners, together with TRENTINO SVILUPPO and HUB INNOVATION TRENTINO which joined in presence, had the chance to present themselves and their initiatives, followed by the "EMERGING MARKET PRESENTATION"  session, curated by Parthvee Jain (InnovatioCuris), who provided an overview and a comparative analysis of the reference markets in the genomics context.
We continued our deep five into genomics by hosting another session, titled "Connecting the dots for a global genomics market", with the aim of running a thorough analysis of the market supported by global experts  discussing respective countries' peculiarities and sharing key insights on market access and the barriers related to regulatory processes, and cultural and linguistic aspects.

Moreover, the afternoon session hosted the matching event, involving around fifty European genomics companies in business-oriented one-to-one meetings.


GEN.ERA at Meet in Italy 4 Life Sciences

From September 29th to October 1st, Genoa will host the seventh edition of "Meet in Italy 4 Life Sciences", the main Italian event dedicated to matchmaking and deep dive into the Life Science space.


The Gen.era project will be presented during the workshop "Genomic Alliance to Explore new market for acceleration", scheduled on September 30th at 1pm CET at Sala Scirocco - Magazzini del Cotone.
